Hi there, Scott here! Today, I’m proud to announce a new company name, business partner, and a suite of new marketing services. These changes will complement our offerings of eCommerce website development, maintenance, and hosting management.
First, a little history…
2008: Scott Websites is born
At the ripe age of 16, I started building sites for family friends under the name “Scott Websites”. Quite the creative name, indeed!
After successfully building a site for a band and a few businesses, I was starting to get more and more familiar with website development and learned about these things called “content management systems”. WordPress was still a tiny baby at this time.
2010: Luminary Web Strategies goes live
Fresh out of high school, I founded Luminary Web Strategies in Scottsdale, Arizona. For seven years, I ran under this company name while I finished my Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems in 2013, a primary consultant for Easy Digital Downloads in 2015, moved to California in 2016, and became an official WooCommerce WooExpert in 2016.
In this time, I’ve come to embrace WordPress, WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, and the entire WP Community. Starting with WordCamp Phoenix in 2013, I’ve attended 18 WordCamps and WordPress-related conferences throughout the country. It’s a WordPress world and my embrace will continue on!
2017: A new face, a new name, a few new services
Luminary was a solid company name and started building recognition within the WordPress community, but I’ll admit that I never fully embraced my own company’s branding.
In late 2016, I sat down with Peter Malick, an experienced music and marketing exec, and came out of that meeting with a plan: the merging of our expertise into one marketing agency powerhouse.
Meet Peter Malick
Peter has a broad range of experience in the music and marketing worlds.
His composition “Strange Transitions”, featuring Norah Jones, was the first song to be bundled with a cell phone in 2004.
After spending many years marketing his music successfully online, he realized he could take his expertise with internet marketing and turn it into a new career.
In 2013, Peter became the Chief Marketing Officer at Westlake Pro, an elite pro audio retailer and studio builder in Universal City, CA. Under his marketing reign, the business grew almost 50% a year in 2015 and 2016.
Peter is CEO & Co-Founder of Lumen Foundry.
Meet our design & brand strategy partners
In addition to our new Co-Founder, we have two partners onboard for internal and client projects.
Vlad Dascalu joins us as Brand Strategy Partner, helping to shape the identity and messaging for the brands we work with.
Our Lead Design Partner is Michelle Schulp, bringing her incredible visual design expertise to the client projects that need them the most.
We’ve worked with both of these partners on previous projects and can’t recommend their passion and expertise enough. Learn more about our entire team on our Team page.
Meet the new name
Our goal is to bring light and recognition to deserving brands and products through a collection of unique branding, messaging, design, marketing, and development services. We are a “light creator”. Lumen Foundry – forging brilliance.
Meet the new services: online marketing
The marketing arena has been undergoing a monumental change over the past decade. As all our attention has moved to cell phone and computer screens, brands need to transition their marketing to the new mediums.
In addition, successful marketing has moved from push to pull strategies – where customers may not even feel like they’re being marketed to at all.
With Peter’s expertise, we are now offering Inbound Marketing (content creation that attracts and retains customers), Email Marketing, Social Media Marketing, and Search Engine Optimization.
These are all available as one-off or ongoing projects for current or new clients, and we are currently offering free consultations and recommendation plans.

To all Luminary clients: thank you for your business, and I’m looking forward to continue working with you this year and beyond.
To my colleagues, friends, and family: thank you for your support throughout the years, and I can’t wait to make you proud with Lumen Foundry.
Off to the races ?
